The following are the nature of training courses being conducted from time to time.
- Induction /pre-service training courses for the Principals, PGT/TGTs for a duration of 21 days
- Content oriented in-service training courses for PGTs and TGTs in different subjects for a duration of two to three weeks depending upon the nature of the course.
- Short-term refresher courses for subject teachers on content analysis, innovations, testing and evaluation for a duration of approximately six days to one week.
- Capsule courses of three days duration on specific subject areas like remediation, setting up question papers, evaluation etc. depending upon the requirement of teachers.
PACE SETTING ACTIVITIES
The Vidyalaya is always conscious of the needs of the community and lends its helping hand. Students of the Vidyalaya participated in various pace setting activities as enlisted below:
The Banana plantation programme using the sewage water is Progressing steadily.
A rally was organized to create A.I.D.S. awareness involving the Students in the neighboring villages. Mrs. Lakshmi Venkatachalam, IAS, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Govt. of Karnataka and Sri. Narayanaswamy, IAS, KIDBA, Govt. of Karnataka inaugurated the AIDS awareness programme in the Vidyalaya.
Computer Literacy Drive programme was launched in the neighboring schools in Bashettihalli and as many as 40 students were trained in 02 spells.
A cleanliness campaign was launched in Doddaballapur involving IX and XI students in coordination with the town municipal corporation, Doddaballapur and police department. Press reporter of popular daily “Usha Kirana” inaugurated the programme.
Under career guidance and counseling, two senior KAS Officers from state employment exchange were invited to guide the students of class XI and XII relating to career prospectus after XII.
The sprint queen, P.T. Usha, Geeth Sethi- world billiards champion, Hockey wizard Dhanraj Pillai and Sprinter Reet Abraham visited the Vidyalaya and attended a function that was arranged in their honour.
Mr. Ganesh a police officer and Everest Climber visited this Vidyalaya and shared his experience and encouraged student to opt for adventure activities.
AIDS Awareness rally was also launched in the neighboring Villages, which served as eye opener to the villagers.
Mobile library was also launched among the students of the Neighborhood schools, which gives an exposure to the students and also inculcate the reading habits.
This Vidyalaya participated in the pulse polio programme organized by the state health department. Vidyalaya students, staff nurse and Vehicle involved in pulse polio campaign.
Mataji of Sri. Ramakrishna mat of Sriramanahalli, Bangalore was invited to distress the children from examination tension and emotional stress.
This Vidyalaya conducted workshop for High School teachers of state Government in Mathematics
SCOUTS AND GUIDES
Shri Upadhye, TGT Kannada and Mrs. Rajani, TGT Music led the Vidyalaya scouts and guides unit. Besides regular activities in the Vidyalaya, Scouts attended Rajyapuraskar Camp at Bidar on 4.11.05. 8 scouts and 13 guides completed “Thir thanya sopana”. The scouts and guides unit of the Vidyalaya celebrated “Thinking and world brotherhood day” on 22.2.06. The readers club and scouts and guides participated in the “Rain water harvesting” project in the Vidyalaya
COMPUTER LITERACY PROGRAMME
All the teachers and office Staff are specially trained by NVS, Hyderabad to update the computer knowledge. Students and teachers are also exposed to various computer skills and competitions. Computer aided learning in the Vidyalaya is in full swing and educational CD’s are supplementing the effective implementation of the programme. Computer Literacy Programme for the neighborhood schools is implemented effectively. Since 2002, sixteen schools are covered under the programme under the guidance of the Block Education Officer, Doddaballapur.
PARENT TEACHERS COMMITTEE
The Vidyalaya has a parent teacher association, which has involved itself in building the institution. Their active participation has helped the Vidyalaya in solving many problems locally. The PTC is constituted every year comprising of the parents and staff representatives under the chairmanship of the principal.
The different issues related to students, their academic progress, hostel life, food and other uses are discussed in detail. The suggestions and observations of parents are carefully, recorded and the Vidyalaya spares no effort to implement and incorporate them.
VISIT OF LUMINARIES
It was a red-letter day in the history of this Vidyalaya, as it had the rare prerogative to felicitate the outstanding Indian sports stars of international repute on 5th Oct.05. SOCIALLY USEFUL PRODUCTIVE WORK
All the classes have regular S.U.P.W periods and each student is graded based on his/her performance and interest. these grades are reflected in their progress card.

Book binding, Basket weaving, Candle making, Chalk making, Clay modeling, Pottery, Embroidery and cross stitch, Eco-friendly bags and gift boxes. flower making and flower arrangement, Bouquets, Badges, Greeting card making, Nib painting, Fabric painting, Embose Painting, Engraving, Glass painting, Gardening, Tailoring, Knitting - preparation of squashes, Pickles and jams, Making detergent powder, Liquid detergent, Phenyl, Shoe Polish.
The S.U.P.W department in co-ordination with the art department arranges exhibition every year and parents are invited.
